Both Steve and I took part in this ACU test at Brands Hatch organised by Motorsportvision on what turned out to be a very abnormally sunny and warm day for February.
The aim for the day was to make final changes to gearing and suspension prior to the first meeting at this circuit.
The test went very well, even though Steve was suffering from a nasty bout of food poisening.
With a cold track I was consistantly running low to mid 52 second laptimes with Steve a further second and a half faster.
I felt very happy with this as the gearing and 190 section rear tyre test worked very well. I wasnt pushing at all either and was just trying to concentrate on what I had learnt in Almeria and to understand more about the setup on the bike. I usually run over a second off my race times on a test day so now just need to get into a race weekend to put everything together.
I have decided to enter the Powerbike class at Brands Hatch on the 8th-9th March. MRO Supersports arent at this meeting so the aim is to use this as a test race weekend prior to the first round at Donington. I guess this will be a tough weekend with full grids. It is though one that I am very much looking forward to. Having not raced in the same class as Steve since 2005 and it being the first meeting on the 600 im hoping for an enjoyable and rewarding weekend.
