| Ritchie Thornton GSXR600 Oulton Park |
Ritchie returns to the track a little late in the season due to budget
problems, but has managed to get some funds together in these tough
times.
With some really good and generous help from his good friends
at Steve Jordan Motorcycles and KAIS Performance, he has managed to put
a package together based on his ex GSXR 600 Trophy Bike.
This was his first time out this year on the K7 Suzuki in the MRO 600
Stock Sport Championship.
He is not really interested in points and championships as a whole this
year but, because money is a bit tight for him, he just wants to get on
a bike again, enjoy racing and do the best he can at the circuits he
likes.
Oulton Park is one of them and he really enjoyed his first time out.
The 600 went really well and he qualified 9th on the 3rd row.
He's always been good off the lights and was well up with the leaders
until a rider on a Honda crashed in front of him at the chicane and he
lost the tow.
Still he finished 8th in the combined 600 Super Sport race and was 6th
Stock Sport bike past the flag.
Race 2 he managed a well earned 5th 600 StockSport place with very
consistent laptimes and was 7th overall combined with the Supersports
bikes.
He was really pleased to be the first Stock Sport Suzuki over the line
and to beat many of the Super Sport classes too.
So, he's got the bug back.. his next meeting will be at Brands GP
Circuit in May. |
