A note from team rider Peter Molloy:
After the 2008 season in which I won the British Motorcycle Racing Club (BMCRC) MiniTwin championship, we had a dinner dance event recently at which I collected:
MiniTwin Championship Trophy
The 'One Make' series trophy (as minitwinners generally run the same bike)
And Also:
BMCRC Rider of the Year award.
The Rider of the Year trophy recipient is voted for by a panel of judges made up from the club's directors and all competing members are eligible, not just championship winners.
Because of my championship win whilst battling injury, I was deemed worthy of this honour. I get to keep the Sir Algernon McGuiness Memorial Trophy for one year which was until the 1960's the world land speed record trophy before being donated to the BMCRC. There are illustrious names on this like Campbell, Seagrave and the like (now me!)

News of this award has spread and I am tomorrow being interviewed for BBC 3 counties radio (herts/beds/bucks) at around 17.30, just after the footie managers have begged the fans for forgiveness to keep a job and slated the ref's.
Tune in if you're able.
Plans for 2009 are coming together and I'll send an update out on that soon.
Regards
Peter Molloy |
