| News, the season so far |
Alot has been happening since my last update.
Steve Jordan has moved up in the BMCRC championship into 4th position and now has 3rd in his sights. With only two rounds left to go at Snetterton and Brands Hatch GP circuit there will be some very close battles at the front.
Steve took a well earnt and well ridden win at the French Croix curcuit and has followed that up with some strong top 3 finishes at Snetterton and a superb 2nd place at Cadwell. The Cadwell round saw Steve beat his personal best lap time with a 1.34 second lap!.
A little from myself. I had a good start to our Snetterton weekend which started off with a 6th in damp qualifying and then some excellent top ten finishes in the dry with a personal best lap time of a 1.13.6. I was very happy with that especially as I know there is more to come once the bike is tuned at the end of the season. Sadly Snetterton ended up with me getting an ambulance ride to Norwich hospital. Apprantly I highsided in the damp out of 4th position exiting the bomb hole. I still cant remember any of the crash or the hospital. The result was a hardly damaged bike, but wrecked leathers and crash helmet and numerous trips to the lovely Pat at Carlton Chiropractic. I certainly can recommend you getting put straight again after a heavy fall!.
I have since been out at Brands Hatch and Cadwell Park in the powerbikes. Next stop is Oulton Park. Its going to be a long week which starts with testing on Wednesday, day off Thursday and then qualifying Friday with racing Saturday.
Peter Molloy has continued to head the top of the BMCRC Minitwins series with some super cool riding. Peter is very level headed with his approach to racing and very smooth on track. He took the club lap record at Brands Hatch still suffering from a broken ankle!. Only two rounds left and we are keeping out fingers crossed for yet another Minitwins championship win. Peter will be moving upto a Supersport 600 bike next season, one to watch I think!.
Peters identical twin brother Adam has also started riding in the minitwins after deciding he had done enough on his RGV250. A steady start at Brands and some superb racing and lap times at Cadwell seem to be proving that maybe next season another Molloy could be sitting at the top of the championship table.
Richie Thornton has had some excellent results so far this season in the Suzuki GSXR cup series. Fingers crossed that he can pull back the championship lead after a nasty fall at Anglesey last time out.
Garry Budgen is now within a whisker of heading the Thunderbike Uk standings. Fellow rider Simon Peyto took a heavy fall at Cadwell on the test day which means he may not be able to compete until Snetterton. With the championship leader sidelined, Garry has a chance. Ive hidden the cakes and biscuits!.
